Are you familiar with the recycling stages of a scrap car?
The recycling process of a scrap car consists of four stages:
Reception
The car is inspected. The car is also checked for missing or extra materials and items.
Decommissioning
The official scrapping certificate is given to the owner. After this point, you are no longer liable or responsible for the car. Your insurance company and Traficom will be automatically notified that your insurance and taxes have been terminated. After decommissioning, the car enters the recycling system, and it cannot be reregistered again.
Preparation
The scrap car is dried which means that all fluids are removed. Tyres, battery, catalytic converter, and other parts are removed. Parts that cause a risk of explosion, such as airbags, are removed or otherwise neutralized.
